From Nevada Representative April 17, 1889

Mrs. Root, of Ruthven, Iowa, came to Maxwell to visit her brother, Rev. John Doty, whom she had not seen for over thirty years. Although a lady of over 60 years of age, yet she seemed in excellent health and spirits, and was enjoying her visit very much. She was expected to return home the latter part of last week, but was taken suddenly ill, and died on Sabbath morning, before any of her family could reach her. She was kindly cared for by Rev. Doty, his wife and their neighbors. We learned that the funeral services were held in Maxwell yesterday at 10 A.M.
