....Our village has not escaped the sorrow while it has enjoyed the joy of the New Year. Last week the wife of Nels Espeland was buried and Monday of this week Mrs. Rev. Jacobson was borne by a sorrowing people to her last resting place in the church yard. And ere the tolling of the bell had ceased to proclaim the gloom of the community, news is brought of the death of Sol Erickson, an old and respected farmer of this neighborhood. He will be buried on Wednesday....
