--Mrs. J. M. Bates and Will Bates are in Luzerne, having been called there by the death of Mrs. B's father, and are detained there by the outbreak of typhoid fever.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. J. M. Bates" was Eunice (Ranstead) Bates, wife of James M. Bates. Their son "Will" was William Leonard Bates.
