The funeral of Mrs. J. D. Blaine took place Sunday afternoon. Rev. W. A. Pratt preached the funeral sermon and Rev. J. K. Fowler assisted in the exercises. The city officials attended the funeral in a body, six of them acting as pall-bearers. Many friends were present to attest their attachment to Mrs. Blaine and their sympathy for the husband and children.--Cedar Rapids Republican.

Mrs. Blaine, whose maiden name was Annice H. Rhoads, was well known to the older residents of Nevada and vicinity, several years of her earlier life having been passed in this county. Her death will awaken sincere regret in the hearts of all who knew her.
