Mr. James Bales was buried at Maxwell, April 21st, the funeral being conducted by Rev. Ferguson, of this place. Mr. B. was a native of Hendricks Co., Ind. but had been a citizen of Story Co, for over 80 years. He leaves a wife, a son, and a daughter to mourn his loss. He was very highly respected in the community where he lived.
