From Nevada Representative August 25, 1885

Iowa Center.

Died in Des Moines, Ia., Aug 20, 1886, Elizabeth Kahly. Mrs. Kahly was the daughter of David B. Wenrick of this place. She was born Jan 23d, 1841, married to Henry Kahly March 19th, 1867, embraced Christianity and united with Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1872 at Oskaloosa, Iowa, and was a devout christian until her death. She leaves husband, father, mother and two sisters to mourn her loss. She was brought here on Saturday; and Sunday a host of friends that had known her while living here followed her remains to Woodland Cemetery, and there laid them to rest. "Her happy soul has winged its way, to one pur, bright, eternal day."....

Mrs. Henry Kaley*, a former resident of Iowa Centre, Ia., and Sister of Mrs. J. G. Benethum*, died in Des Moines, after a long lingering illness. The remains were brought to this place, and to Iowa Centre for burial. The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church and conducted by Rev. McCoy of Des Moines....

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The correct spelling of the last name of the deceased is Kahly, not "Kaley." "Mrs. J. G. Benethum" was Mary Anna (Wenrick) Bennethum, sister of the deceased and wife of Jonathan G. Bennethum.
