"Why should they weep who have another friend
in death, another thread to guide them through
Life's maze, another tie to draw them home,
A firmer foothold in the infinite."The angel of death has been abroad throughout the land, and the tidings come to our ears that a mother in Israel has been summoned from earth. That fearful reaper knows no respite from his work, and the harvest is ever cut whether ripened for the sickle or not. This time the message some to one of ripened age, having reached four score years. Mrs. Harriet Funk mother of Henry Funk and Mrs. Daniel Brubaker, and for many years an old resident of this township, after an illness of five weeks, died in Potawatamie Co., Kansas on Monday, June 21, 1886. Many of our old citizens will remember Mother Funk, and the many noble professions she made and practiced in life, and will rejoice to know she died with the hope of a grand immortality in the bright morning of the world's resurection....
