Died.

At Des Moines, December 17th, Shepherd Hoskins. During his residence in Nevada with his son-in-law, Dr. Schooler, Mr. Hoskins made many friends who will be much pained at his decease. He had suffered much from a cancer, and it will be remembered that he last summer underwent a severe operation for its removal; so his death now is not a matter of great surprise. He leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. Schooler.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Alice (Hoskins) Schooler, daughter of Shepherd and Lydia Hoskins, was married to Dr. Louis/Lewis Schooler. The 1885 census shows Alice's mother, Lydia Hoskins, living with the Schoolers in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.
