Died in Peace.

Near Colo, Story Co., Iowa, on Monday 27th of August 1883, Mrs. Phoebe Ward. Her maiden name was Beam. She was born in the State of Maryland December 2nd, 1796. At the age of 16 she removed to Licking Co., Ohio, where she was married to Wm. Ward, January 4th, 1816. In 1836 they moved to Illinois where her husband died February 3rd, 1870. Then she came to Story county, Iowa. Here she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Nelson Perry. The funeral on the 29th was attended by a large concourse of sympathizing friends, among whom were two of her sons. "There remaineth at rest."
