From Nevada Representative July 25, 1883

Cambridge.

John D. Breezley died at his residence in Cambridge Saturday night, July 21st, at half past ten o'clock. Mr. Breezley was an old and respected citizen of Cambridge. He would have been 49 years old next August. He retained his consciousness until the last, and bade each member of his family good bye as rationally as he ever did in health. A post mortem examination was held Sunday morning by Drs. Brown, Grafton, Hayes, Robinson, and Aplin. Five gall stones weighing an ounce were found in the gall sac. The lungs were emphysematous. Further particulars will be published elsewhere. Mrs. Breezley in particular and the relatives in general showed the very best of judgment in permitting the examination. Mr. Breezley was buried in the grave yard north-west of town. The funeral discourse was preached by Rev. G. M. Hall. Mr. Breezley was a member of the A. O. U. W., and the member of the lodge took charge of the remains. Several members of the Nevada lodge were present and participated in the funeral exercises. Mr. Breezley's wife and family get $2,000 from the fraternity. A large crowd of people followed him to the grave. It is useless to comment. We feel that Cambridge has lost a valuable citizen, the church a strong pillar, and the lodge a worthy brother....
