Janet Eileen Baker, age 73, passed away October 5, 2015 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. A celebration of life memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way in Ames.

Janet was born on November 13, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa to James and Elsie Bennett. She grew up in Linden, Iowa and graduated from Panora-Linden High School. She worked as a Home Health Aide with Wesley Life before retirement. Janet enjoyed spending her free time crocheting and knitting. Janet was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a deep love for God, her family, and friends.
She is survived by her children, Tracy (Phillip) Bloomquist of Boone, David (Theresa) Baker of Story City, and Faith Baker of West Des Moines; grandchildren Nicole (Joshua) McCaffery, Melanie (Benjamin) Grove, Tiffani Bloomquist, and Alexander Baker; great-grandchildren Kiran McCaffery and Mikal McCaffery, and sister Jane Teas of Adel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, James and Joseph.

Memorials may be directed to the Bliss Cancer Center.
