Last Sunday afternoon occurred the death of Mrs. Jennie Duea Barrett at the home of her sister, Mrs. C. Logan. A while ago Mr. and Mrs. Barrett came here from their home near Council Bluffs to spend the winter. Mrs. Barrett's health was quite delicate at that time and gradually failed until death came. Mrs. Barrett was the daughter of Jonas Duea of this place, was a graduate of the Deaf and Dumb school at Council Bluffs and was young woman of marked ability and refinement. She was possessed of an unusually pleasant disposition and her many noble qualities endeared her to all. Her death is sincerely mourned by the people of this community. Aside from her many relatives here she leaves a husband and little son.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Jennie Matilda Duea was married to William Oliver Barritt, not "Barrett." "Mrs. C. Logan" was Julia Elizabeth Duea who married firstly John Henry Boyd and secondly Christian Christianson Logan.
