OBITUARY
MRS. HANNAH BUFFUM WELLS
Mrs. Hannah Wells, for twenty-nine years a resident of Nevada, died at her home on Court avenue, on Wednesday February 7th at 11:30 a. m. after a short illness with bronchial pneumonia. She was born Hannah Buffum, in Central Illinois, moving with her parents to Rock Island at the age of nine years. Here, at the age of nineteen she was married to Rinnah Wells. Eight children were born to them five daughters and three sons of whom three survive: Mr. F. S. Smith and Mrs. Lou Allen of Nevada and Mrs. Robertson of Rock Island, besides seventeen grand children and fifteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 Thursday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in charge of the pastor, Rev. J. G. Leitch and the remains were taken to the old home at Andalusia for burial beside her husband. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Allen accompanying the body.
Mrs. Wells was a woman of rare sweetness of disposition, loved by all who knew her. Had she lived till April 11 she would have been ninety years of age, in her lifetime she had seen wonderful changes and development. Doing her own part quietly and bravely to the last. She has met the great change and will be greatly missed and mourned by the many to whom she was dear.
