February 18, 1920 - September 10, 2015
From: Johnston, IA | Originally: Nevada, IALois French, age 95, of Johnston and formerly of Nevada, died Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Bishop-Drumm Care Center in Johnston.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2015, at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada, with Pastor David R. Burling officiating.
Lois Ellen French was born to Ira and Ruby (Clark) McNatton in Carlisle, Iowa, on February 18, 1920. She spent her childhood and young adult life in Fernald, Iowa, graduating from Fernald High School in 1937. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fernald.
On August 27, 1939, Lois was married to Glenn French in Nevada. After living in various towns, her last years were spent in Nevada, Iowa, until making her home at Bishop-Drumm Care Center in Johnston. Lois was a homemaker and enjoyed quiltmaking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1981; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors include one sister, Marilyn Allie of Urbandale and several nieces and nephews.
Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Lois and her family.
