Marcel M. Gaedke, 81, of Colo, Iowa, passed away at his home, Tuesday, September 1, 2015.

Marcel was born August 17, 1934 in Miltona, Minnesota, the son of Walter and Hermina (Fritz) Gaedke. Marcel served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Margaret Miller on November 7, 1964 in Nevada, Iowa. Marcel had been a truck driver before his retirement. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center, Iowa. He enjoyed trains, old-time Country Music, tinkering in his garage, visiting with others, and sharing stories about military service.

Marcel is survived by his wife: Margaret Gaedke of Colo, Iowa; a son: Mike (Candy) Gaedke of Colo, Iowa; three daughters: Barb (Russ) Mayfield of Boone, Iowa, Lauri (Ricky) Dodd of Colo, Iowa, Michelle (Jay) Ringgenberg of Colo, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his sister: Bobette Matzen of Ames, Iowa; and a sister-in-law: Lugene Gaedke of Colo, Iowa.

Marcel was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim Gaedke.

Visitation will be 3-5 pm Sunday, September 6th, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Monday, September 7th, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center, Iowa.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church and/or Homeward Hospice.
