Obituary for Everett Wendell Smith

Everett W. Smith, 76, of Maxwell, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Everett was born August 31, 1938, to Paul D. and Grace (Cowan) Smith. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1956 and was united in marriage to Gail Gonner on January 18, 1963, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Everett worked for the John Deere plant in Ankeny for 41 years and farmed east of Maxwell all his life. He enjoyed Sunday suppers with his family and loved sports and being with his grandchildren. Everett was a devoted member of the Maxwell Christian Church.

Everett is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gail; his children: Steve (Kathie) Smith, Laura (Clark) Huinker, Ron (Angel) Smith and Tara (Joel) Huntrods; 12 grandchildren; his siblings: Anna Tyler, Eldon (Carol) Smith, Polly Perin, Clyde (Carol) Smith, Robert Smith, and Lois (Kenny) Westercamp. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings: Ethel Nady, Jim Smith, Mildred McIntosh, Earl Smith and Dorothy Smith.

Per Everett’s wishes, he has been cremated and no services are planned.
