Constance “Connie” M. Wicks was born on February 24, 1923 to Rasmus and Gudrun (Eritzland) Jegtevig in Jewell, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. She married Arlein T. Wicks on September 25, 1943 at Bethesda Lutheran Church. Connie had lived in Prairie Village, near Kansas City, Kansas, since 1957. She was a Sunday school teacher and a Girl Scout leader. She belonged to the Prairie Dog Camping Club, Photography – Color Slide Club and the Sons of Norway. Connie enjoyed Norwegian rosemaling, sewing and cooking. Her family was very important to her.

Connie passed away April 26, 2015 at Clarewood House in Houston, Texas at 92 years of age.

Connie is survived by two daughters, Arlinda Klempin, of Bellaire, TX and Karen (William) Helz, of Roswell, GA; five grandchildren, Meya, Kristin, Katrina, Serena and Bonnie; two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Julian; and one sister, Ann Tidwell, of Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arlein, on April 22, 1998; her sisters, Ruth Jegtevig, Oriet Johnson and Fern Watts; and her son-in-law, Raymond Klempin.
