Ames, Ia., - Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada for Charles “Bill” Maurer, 81 of Ames, who died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Story County Hospital in Nevada. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Mr. Maurer Was Born in Spencer and Lived in Ames More Than 51 Years. He was a lawyer and was retired from private practice. He had been a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Club and the American and Story County Bar Associations.

Survivors include his wife, Lorella; a daughter, Mary Anne Maurer of Denver, Colo.; a son, Charles Jr. of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Jean Tangney of Spirit Lake; and two brothers, Homer of Okoboji and Erland of Spencer.
