Obituary from Iles Funeral Homes, Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel, Madrid, Iowa.

William "Bill" Joseph Henry, 49, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church located at 506 3rd Avenue in Slater. Funeral services for Bill will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27, at the church. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery, north of Madrid.

Bill was born on April 23, 1965 in Des Moines, IA to Robert and Teresa (Galetich) Henry. For many years Bill worked for Jensen Construction, on bridges throughout the midwest until he moved to Fremont, Nebraska to take a position with Valmont Industries. This was a career change that Bill dearly loved until he was forced to stop due to his illness.

He enjoyed all types of sports and was a big Hawkeye and Packers fan. Pastimes Bill loved: cooking new recipes, fishing, watching races, listening to blues music, talking about Harley Davidson and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his three children, Madeline (Gered) Burkhardt of Sheldahl, Robert Henry of Slater and Jordan Henry of Ankeny; mother, Teresa (Roger) Bayless of Ridgeway, MO; father, Robert (Kumari) Henry of Madrid; brothers, Laine (Caren) Henry of Grimes and Scott Henry of Madrid; nephew, Hunter Henry of Madrid; grandmother, June Galetich of Madrid; and many loving extended family members and friends. Bill was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend to all. Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emil "Buck" Galetich and Glen and Lois Henry.

Memorials may be made to the William Henry memorial fund to be designated later by the family.
