Betty L. Ballard, 87, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully Monday, March 23, 2015, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny surrounded by her family.

Betty was born January 29, 1928, in Dunlap, Iowa to William and Bernice (Pokett) Hack. She had been married to Richard Ballard Sr. and was a member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed word searches, young children and coffee with her neighbors. Above all, Betty loved time spent with family.

Betty is survived by her son, Todd (Christy) Ballard of Ankeny; her daughters, Judy (Jerry) Miller of Ames, Nancy (Jerry) Voyna of Des Moines and Ruth Yoakum of Rockford, IL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and her twelve siblings, with Betty being the last survivor in her family.

Per Betty’s wishes, she has been cremated and a memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny. Private burial of cremated remains will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery.
