Adeline Rosemond Bishop, 85, longtime resident of Maxwell, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada where she had resided for the past eight years.

Adeline was born September 29, 1929, in Colo to Henry and Ione (Troup) Wax. She married Charles E. Bishop in February 6, 1949. Adeline was a member of the Maxwell Christian Church and Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed her flower beds, gardening, painting and crafts. She loved animals and always had a house pet.

Adeline is survived by her children: Charles (Nancy) Bishop of Las Vegas, NV, Carolyn Bishop of Ames and Leo Bishop of Ames; her grandchildren: Chad (Corey) Bishop, Jason Bishop and James (Brandi) Bishop; her great-grandchildren: Raef and Reid of Las Vegas and Kammi and Dustin of Ireton, IA; and her sister, Wilma Oxley of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two sisters, Mary Vancise and Emma Smith.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 6 at the Maxwell Christian Church in Maxwell with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery outside Nevada. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Story County Animal Shelter, 975 West Lincoln Highway, Nevada, IA 50201.
