Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Blanche was born on July 20, 1918 in Roland, Iowa to Christ H. and Marie (Mason) Risdal. She was a graduate of Roland High School. Blanche married Walter M. Hill on May 1, 1943. She lived her life in the Roland and McCallsburg area. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, music and gardening. Family was very important to Blanche.

Blanche E. Hill died on March 4, 2015 at the Zearing Health Care Center, Zearing, Iowa at the age of 96 years.

Blanche is survived by: seven children, Roger (Marcia) Hill of Roland, DeAnn Sailsbury of Davenport, IA, Jerry Hill of Roland, Bonnie Lescaleet of Hope Mills, NC, Ralph (Denise) Hill of Sioux Falls, SD, Colleen (Douglas) Smith of Waukee, IA and Randy (Julie) Hill of McCallsburg; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Esther) Risdal of Roland, IA and Gerald Risdal of Ames, IA; and a sister, Margaret (Orris) Strum of Stuartville, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter on April 14, 2000; sister, Geraldine Wessman; infant sister, Carolyn and brother, Rudolph Risdal.

Memorials may be made out to Salem Lutheran Church.
