Donald H. Simmons
June 15, 1918 to Jan. 11, 1995Donald H. Simmons, 76, of Nevada, died of cancer at Story County Hospital, Nevada.
He was born to Claude and Grace (Strait) Simmons in Cedar Rapids, Neb. A 1936 graduate of Burnside High School, he was a welder in tool crib at General Filter. He retired in 1980.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Nevada American Legion Post #48.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Wilma of Nevada, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Memorial graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 14, with Rev. Fred Dansforth officiating. The body was cremated. Burial of the cremains was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery, Nevada.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada was in chargeof arrangements.
