Janice Eifling, 68, of Ames, passed away January 16, 2015 at Israel Family Hospice House. A memorial gathering for Janice will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the North Park Villa Clubhouse 2932 Northwestern Avenue in Ames.

Janice Kaye Eifling was born August 1, 1946 to Martin Henry and Rosalee Shinley Eifling at St. Vincent's Infirmary, Little Rock, Arkansas. Janice graduated high school from Crystal Springs Consolidated School in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas in 1968 and in 1969, a Master of Science in Bio-Medical Library Science from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. She worked as a scientific librarian at the USDA National Centers for Animal Health in Ames, beginning in 1969 and retiring in October 2013. Janice was a very active member of the Iowa Quilters Guild. She was an integral part of the IQG serving as newsletter editor for thirteen years and enjoyed participating in IQG retreats, classes, and the bi-annual quilt show. Janice was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and a dedicated Cyclones fan.

Janice is survived by her sisters, Pamela Eifling Russell and Carol Eifling Gies; and her faithful cockatiel, Sunny.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
