Gaylord C. Nelson of Bradenton joined his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Gaylord was born September 1, 1943 in Worthington, Minnesota to his parents Charles and Emilia Nelson. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda; daughter Paula (Jens) Nissen; sons Jeffrey (Nelly) Nelson and Christian (Tanya) Nelson; grandchildren, Nathan, Joseph, Connor, Lindsay, Lauren, and Charlie; brother Virgil (Bonnie) Nelson and sisters Carol (DuWayne) Oberloh and Phyllis (Craig) Hildebrand in addition to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Matthew Nissen. Gaylord and Linda moved to Bradenton in 2002 to escape the cold winters of Iowa and have gained many wonderful friends in the community. Friends may join the family for Gaylord's celebration of life service which will be held Monday, November 10, 2014 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Bradenton.
