Jordan Bergland
August 10, 1932 - November 15, 2014

Jordan was born to Andrew and Cora Bergland, August 10, 1932, on the family farm. Jordan attended and graduated from McCallsburg High School in 1950. He attended Waldorf College in Forest City. While at Waldorf, he met Emerald Nelson. They were married and had three children David, Daniel and Miriam. In December of 1991, Jordan married Nancy Kilstofte together they enjoyed attending Iowa State sports, touring Iowa, and Nancy’s retired life until her untimely death in 1999.

Jordan farmed and enjoyed the outdoors. Hobbies included fishing, hunting, creating stained glass and rock collecting. Jordan was a lifelong member Bethany Lutheran Church where he served many different positions. Jordan served on the board of the REC (Rural Electric Cooperative) for over 27 years. He served on the board for the low rent apartments in McCallsburg for several years until they were sold. Here he ministered to many with the donation of property maintenance, being a friend to listen, providing a ride to the physician or a few dollars for groceries. Jordan was also a member of the Lions club for many years.

Jordan Bergland died with his family surrounding him at his home on November 15, 2014.

Jordan is survived by his children, David (Shelley) Bergland of Glassford, Illinois, Daniel Bergland of Roland, Miriam (Mark) Yocum of Johnston, step daughter Kathi Jarvardi of New Haven, Connecticut, and stepson Randy (Stacy) Kilstofte of Story City; his grandchildren Amber (Jason) Roberts, Hannah Bergland, Nathan (Sky) Bergland, Kelsey (David) Bollinger, Lee Yocum, Kari Bergland, Connor Yocum, Daniel Bergland Jr, Erin Yocum; and his great grandchildren: Isabel, Ashlen, Cora, Piper, Izzy and Isaac.
