bituary for Carl "Gene" Gray Sr.

Carl “Gene” Gray Sr., 70, of Colo, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada.

Gene was born May 31, 1944, in Unionville, MO, the son of Robert and Ruth (Pickett) Gray. He graduated from Newton High School in 1962, and had most recently worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts as a deliveryman until his retirement in May of this year. Gene enjoyed farming, NASCAR and Chicago Bears football.

Gene is survived by his son, Carl Jr. (Anne) Gray of Collins; his daughters, Carlene Gray of Colo and Anna Gray of Fort Dodge; his brother, Robert Jr. (Barb) Gray of Newton; his sister, Darlene (Marty) Leib of Newton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Brandon Gray; and a great-granddaughter, BreAunna O’Neill.

Visitation will be 10 am until 11 am Wednesday, October 15th, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. A Memorial Service will follow visitation.
