Dorothy McLaury
July 3, 1915 to Sept. 2, 1992

Dorothy Janet McLaury of Nevada died of a heart ailment at Rolling Green Village, Nevada.

She was born to Eugene and Zadie (Wall) Hilleman at State Center. She married Thomas McLaury on Aug. 24, 1939, at Clarinda. She retired in 1978 after 27 years of service from Donnelley Marketing in Nevada. She was a member of Nevada's First United Methodist Church, the Lydia Circle of the church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Solomon Dean Chapter of the D.A.R., the Donnelley Retiree Club, the Nevada Chapter #296 Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was past Matron, and the Nevada WA-TAN-YE Club, of which she was past president. She enjoyed her church work, playing bridge and visiting her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jean, of Mason City; three grandchildren, Michelle Crowell of St. Louis, Mo., Heather and Thomas Crowell, both of Mason City; and two sisters, Margaret and Esther Hilleman, both of Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1976, and one brother, Carl Hilleman.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, with the Rev. William Ballard officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Nevada, or to the Rolling Green Village activity fund.
