Barbara T. Lohman age 84 of Ames, Iowa formerly of Geneseo, Illinois passed away at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A gathering of friends and family will be 5:00- 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday July 30th, 2014 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, in Ames with a sharing of memories service starting at 6:30 p.m.
Barbara T. Lohman was born February 3, 1930 in Greenfield, Illinois the daughter of Oscar and Melba Thiebaud. She graduated from Greenfield High School and went onto the University of Illinois where she lived in the 4H House. Upon graduation, she went into Home Economics and Extension. She married Dale Feaster and the couple later divorced. Barbara then married Gene Lohman in October of 1991 who preceded her in death in July of 2001. Barbara raised her five children in the Princeton and Geneseo, Illinois area and then in Clinton, Iowa. While living in Princeton, Illinois she was also a substitute teacher. While living in Clinton she worked as a Librarian at Ashford University before she retired. Barbara was active in Grace United Methodist Church in Geneseo, PEO, 4H and loved knitting, cross word puzzles, reading, always staying active in her children and grandchildren's lives, and finding a little time for travel.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Dr. Tom) Johnson of Ames, Ken (Laura) Feaster of St. Louis, Bill Feaster of Clinton, Donna Feaster Kearley of Wheaton, IL and Alan (Maria) Feaster of Glenview, IL, grandchildren Kristina and Stephanie Johnson, Jenna Saunders, Alex, Brady and Collin Feaster, Eleanor and Pearson Kearley and Sarah and Isabella Feaster, sister, Jane Setlich, brother, Frank (Betty) Thiebaud, sister Mary Haven and sister in law Betty Thiebaud Hindeling.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale Feaster brothers, Willard, Bill and Jon Thiebaud.
Memorials may be directed to: Israel Family Hospice House or William R. Bliss Cancer Center in care of the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation at 1111 Duff Avenue, Ames, IA 50010. Memorials may also be sent to PEO, Chapter DN, Geneseo, IL for Special Projects.
