Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Marina was born on July 19, 1956 in Fort Lee, VA. Marina worked with the Department of Commerce, National Technical Information Service in Springfield, VA for 21 years until she retired on disability in April 2008. She led a very active social life, having many friends in Virginia. She was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, and thoroughly enjoyed NASCAR racing. She enjoyed celebrating all the holidays, especially St. Patrick’s Day and Halloween. She loved to scrapbook with her friends, creating many wonderful memory albums. She was so talented with decorating her home in Woodbridge, VA. Marina’s sister Linda moved her from Virginia to Iowa in October 2009 in order to care for her needs.

Marina Sams, 57, earned her angel wings on June 18, 2014. She died at Bethany Manor in Story City, IA from complications of Pick’s Disease.

Marina is survived by one daughter, Teressa Sams of Cairo, WV. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Steven (Kathy) Blouin of Crestview, FL; devoted sister Linda (Darrel) Henderson of Randall, IA, twin brothers Douglas Blouin of Burlington, NC and Michael Blouin of Garland, TX. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews in North Carolina and Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her son, Davey Sams and her beloved mother, Anita Sheffield.
