Vera E. Black
July 23, 1905 to Aug. 28, 1992

Vera E. Black, 87, of Fernald died of heart failure at Story County Hospital, Nevada.

She was born to William E. and Mary Jane (Fessler) Davis at Comers. On March 14, 1927, she married Emory S. Black st Rockwell City. She lived her life in the Nevada area as a housewife. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Nevada.

Survivors include three sons, Loy, Roy and Floyd, all of Nevada; a daughter, Marilyn Faulkner, of Nevada; a brother C.W. Davis, of Rinard; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Bertha Dooley, four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were held Monday at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. William Ballard of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.
