Dale Keith Johnson
March 31, 1919 to Nov. 2, 1997

Dale Keith Johnson, 68, of Nevada, died from complications of Alzheimer's Disease on Sunday, Nov. 2, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada.

He was born in Ankeny on March 31, 1919, to Charles Johnson and Hazel (Ritchhart) Johnson.

On March 14, 1942, he married Viola Larson at Princeton, Mo. A 60-year resident of Story County, he worked as a farmer, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, the Farm Bureau and 4-H.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Johnson of Nevada; three sons, Harlan of Mount Pleasant, Harold of Ames and Joel of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Lois Nichols of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Norma Plagmann of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Genevieve Johnson.

Funeral services were held this morning (Thursday, Nov. 6) at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg with Pastor Wayne Pfannkuch officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Bacon-Cooper Funeral Homes, Maxwell and Nevada, handled arrangements.
