Lois H. Mills
Jan. 24, 1929 to April 17, 2002

Lois H. Mills, 73, of Nevada, died Wednesday, April 17, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames from a heart ailment.

She was born Jan. 24, 1929, near Story City to Orvel Henry and Alice Blanche (Ingebritson) Henderson. She graduated from Roland High School in 1947 and then worked for the telephone company as an operator until 1950. She married Gerald "Gary" Mills on Sept. 4, 1948, in Story City. She was a member of the Nevada Assembly of God Church, the Women's Club and Women's Ministries. She enjoyed embroidering, reading and puzzles.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas (and Carol) Mills of Nevada and Robert (and Ruth) Mills of Ames; a daughter, Ann (and Rick) Fink of Ankeny; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 15, 1984; a son in infancy; a brother, Melburn E. Henderson; and two sisters, Esther Olson and Jeanette Andre.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Nevada Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Tom Poppe officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be amde to the Assembly of God Church. The Bacon Funeral Home, Nevada, handled arrangements.
