John Dirksen Dies Very Suddenly In California

John H. Dirksen, 52, former resident of Nevada, died very suddenly Friday morning of a heart attack, at his home at Venice, California, according to a message received here.

Mr. Dirksen, who had been on the police force at Venice, was taken ill on Thursday and passed away at 2 a. m. on Friday.

Because of inability to secure railway reservations, local relatives will be unable to make the trip to California and attend the funeral and interment which will be in Venice, where he has lived for the past several years.

He had not been in good health for some time, having suffered a severe heart attack about a year ago, at the time his brother, Henry passed away.

Mr. Dirksen laves besides his wife, a daughter, Ruby, now Mrs. Struempler, of Lexington, Neb., by a former marriage; 12 grand children; his father, John Dirksen, Sr., 87, of 633 Q Avenue, Nevada; brothers C. E. of Sumner, George of Hampton, Oley of Ames, R. F. of Pampa, Texas and H. R. of Mason City; and three sisters, Mrs. G. W. Habenicht of Brookfield, Ill., and Mrs. Lew Hansen and Miss Anna Dirksen of Nevada.
