Sam Adams Died Early Today at St. Petersburg

Sam B. Adams, 55, for about twelve years in charge of the Nevada offices of the R. H. Donnelley Corp., died at St. Petersburg, Florida, early today, according to word reaching Nevada through a message from his mother, Mrs. Sallie Adams.

Mr. Adams was transferred from the New York offices of the Donnelley Corp. to the Nevada offices in 1923, arriving here early in May of that year. Shortly afterwards his father and mother came out and the family home was established here and here the father, long an invalid, died a few years later and was buried in the Nevada cemetery.

Mr. Adams was in charge of the plant, at the same time taking an active interest in the social and business life of Nevada and became closely identified with the civic affairs.

His health began failing early in 1935 and he spent some time at Rochester and various health giving resorts and finally retired from the management of the Donnelley office and accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Sallie Adams, went to Florida and established their home at St. Petersburg.

The message which was sent to Dr. Bush Houston was not definite regarding the funeral and burial arrangements. It merely state "Sam died here today, funeral Friday, notify paper."

Whether or not the body will be brought back to Nevada and buried in the family lot by the side of the father, is not stated.
