Funeral services were held Monday, January 27, 1978 at the Westover Funeral Home for Linda Masteller, age 31. Officiating was Rev. Alex Washington of Des Moines Methodist Church. Interment was at the Nevada cemetery with Rev. Donald Gruber officiating.

Linda Masteller was born May 10, 1943 at the Mary Greeley Hospital, Ames, to Mr. and Mrs. James Hynes,Route 1 Nevada. She graduated from Nevada Community School and attended Drake University and graduated from Americana Academy of Beauty.

On September 28, 1963 she married Michael Masteller of Norwalk, Iowa and was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. A son, Jason Paul was born on November 27, 1971.

They owned and operated the Michael Beauty Salon located in Roosevelt Shopping Center in Des Moines, where both were hair stylists. She became ill with Melanoma cancer in her arm and was admitted to the M.D. Anderson Clinic in Houston, Texas, the Melamona cancer center.

Survivors include her husband, Michael, son Jason Paul of Des Moines, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hynes of Nevada, one sister Jolene Olah, Kirksville, Mo., two brothers, Larry Hynes, Mexico, Mo., John Hynes Freeport, Ill., one ----- father, Ernest Lein----, Bellflower, Calif.

She was predeceased in death by a baby sister, grandmother, grandparents.
