Jacqueline “Jackie” Dooley, 91, of Huxley, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Jackie was born March 19, 1923, in Ames to Galen and Bonnie (Poole) Schockley. She attended Ames High and on July 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to James Marvin Dooley in Highland, Kansas. Jackie was a homemaker and had been a member of the Rebekkas in Ames. She had lived in Gilbert and McCallsburg where she enjoyed her garden before moving to Nevada after Marvin’s death. Jackie had been a resident of Ballard Creek Community in Huxley for the past five years. Jackie was a mom to anyone that came to her table. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed her grandchildren, horses, crocheting and playing cards.

Jackie is survived by her children, Michael (Marilyn) Phares of Kimberling City, MO; Daniel Phares (Judy) of Bremerton, WA, James Gordon (Joannie) Dooley of Huxley and Jon (Sue) Dooley of Nevada; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren with two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with burial to follow at Story Memorial Gardens in Ames. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. A memorial service is pending at Ballard Creek in Huxley.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ballard Creek in loving memory of Jackie.
