November 5, 1923 - May 17, 2014

Vera was born on November 5, 1923 in Story City, Iowa to Helge G. and Hazel A. (Kammin) Johnson.

She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Evangelical Church. She graduated from high school and went to college so she could work as a teacher aide. She was married to Willard Holm on December 27, 1946 in Des Moines. Vera volunteered at the Senior Center and at St. Petri. Her hobbies included embroidery, playing cards and dancing. She always enjoyed when the family would come over to visit.

Vera Maxine Holm died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa.

Vera is survived by four children: Allen (Wanda) Holm of Story City, Robert (Diane) of Peoria, IL, Brian (Debra) Holm of Story City and Kevin (Candi) Holm of Story City; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; brother Richard (Louise) Johnson of Ames and sister Marlys Johnson of Bettendorf, IA and other family and friends.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willard Holm, grandson-in-law, Thomas Isebrands and one brother, Marvin Leroy Johnson.

Memorials may be made out to either St. Petri or Bethany Manor.
