Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Eleanor Louise Richards was born April 15, 1926 to Antone E. and Myrtle (Thompson) Reiff in Waterloo, Iowa. Eleanor and Clyde Richards were married on June 20, 1948 in Waterloo. She worked as a clerk for Iowa State University, retiring in 1990. Eleanor was a member of Collegiate United Methodist Church, CUMC Woman's Circle, Ames Women's Club and several bridge clubs. She had many artistic talents and liked most of all to paint.

Eleanor passed away at 88 years of age on May 9, 2014 at Mary Greeley Medical Center.

Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Kathy Killion and Jane (Denny) Hinman, both of Ames; two grandchildren, Jessica (Curtis) Van Maaren and Gabriel Richards; her daughter-in-law, Donna (Ralph) Oliver, of Cambridge; and her niece, Susan (Tony) Schultz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde; her son, George Richards; her sister, Carol; and her brother, Roger.

Inurnment of the cremated remains will be a private family service at the Ames Municipal Cemetery Columbarium.
