HENRY "HANK" BOTEN
Henry "Hank" Boten, 71, of Nevada, died Monday, Dec. 26, 1983, at the Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 at the First Christian Church of Nevada with Dr. William Bass officiating. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.
Boten was born to Alfred and Minnie (Wallen) Boten on May 20, 1912 near Nevada. He attended school at the Dean County School and Nevada High School.
He married Arlene Kenny on Nov. 30, 1935 in Nevada. They farmed in the Nevada area until 1962 when they purchased a farm near Decorah. In 1978 they retired and moved back to Nevada. He had spent the last couple years helping on the New Farms.
He was a member of the Nevada Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, and belonged to the Golden K Club.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene; one daughter, Helen Gearhart of Atlantic; three brothers, Myron Boten of Newton, Wayne Boten of Nevada and Max Boten of Littleton, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Carlson of Mingo, Ruth Millslagle of Creston and Opal Harlow of Nevada; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in deeath by his parents and one sister.
