Found dead in garage; rites Thursday
Funeral services for Vernon Richard Breer, 35, 1332 Fourth St., will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Michael Rush officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
Mr. Breer was found dead in a garage at 1336 Third St. Monday evening by his wife. He apparently died accidentally after driving his car into the garage to thaw an accumulation of ice from it. The car's engine was running when the body was found, according to the report on the death and the garage was heated by a gas heater.
Mr. Breer was born in Collins. He was married in 1962 to Charlene Bartmess of Nevada. Survivors include his wife; his father, Herman Breer, Maxwell; a son, Michael, 7, and a daughter Sherry, 5; four brothers, Willard, Washington state; Lawrence, Maxwell, and Wilbert and Jerry, both of Fernald; and five sisters, Mrs.. Roy Thomasson, Lineville; Mrs. Violet Baird, Lima, Ohio; Mrs. Don Stevens, Kelley; Mrs. David Barnes, Colecamp, Mo., and Mrs. Mildred Lee, Des Moines.
