VIRGIL BAPPE

Virgil Bappe, age 61, of Nevada died Saturday, Feb. 23 after an illness of nine years.

The son of George and Minnie Bappe, Virgil is survived by his wife, Margaret Davidson Bappe, whom he married on August 22, 1936, and the couple's three sons, Larry of Nevada, Dan of Honolulu (U.S. Army) and John of Nevada; six daughters, Carol Miller of Des Moines, Bettry Benson of Nevada, Violet Davis of Mesa, Ariz., Jo Riney of Moberly, Mo., Shari Dobson of Nevada and Lori at home; 11 grandchildren, three brothers, C. E. Bappe of Elwood, Nebr., Walter Bappe of Ames and Glen Bappe, also of Ames and one sister, Fern Fox of Odebolt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ray, Dave and Art and one grandson, Rodney.

Before his illness, Virgil was employed by the Iowa State Highway Commission and was a member of the American Legion and V. F. W.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. a the Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Hanson of Memorial Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
