Thomas Eyanson
Feb. 14, 2915 to Oct. 13, 2001

Thomas Eyanson, 76, of Nevada, died of congestive heart failure on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

He was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Nevada to Joseph and Virgil L. (Young) Eyanson. He served as a motor machinist's mate in the U.S. Navy-South Pacific during World War II and married Donna Mae Ball on Feb. 23, 1948, in Ames. He was a painter and a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades Union. He was a lifelong resident of Nevada and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Donna M., of Nevada; four sons, Dr. Steven (and Mary) of Cedar Rapids; James (and Carol), Fred (and Marilyn) and Daniel (and Saundra), all of Nevada; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Glen Eyanson, of Nevada.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Donald, Leo, James and Richard; and three sisters, Katheyn, Mary Lou and Joann.

The body has been cremated and memorial services were held today, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Nevada. A memorial fund has been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled arrangements.
