TOM TARMAN

Tom Tarman, 78, of 350 Gilmore Rd. Space 97, Red Bluff CA, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1988, at his house.

Death was due to cancer.

He was born at Nevada IA on Dec. 30, 1910, to Harry Tarman and Fern Thompson. He graduated from Ames IA High school, attended Iowa State University at Ames and Drake University in Des Moines IA.

He was married to Vera Stevenson April 6, 1947, at Nevada. They lived at Des Moines from 1947 until 1983 and at Red Bluff since.

Mr. Tarman grew up in Ames. He had been a nurse at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.

He was a member of of the Presbyterian Church at Red Bluff where he was an elder for three years. he was charter member of the Ames Elks Club.

He enlisted in the US Naval Reserve Oct. 24, 1942. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 20, 1945.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada, with Rev. I.H. Ward of the Windsor Presbyterian Church, Windsor Heights IA, officiating.

Mr. Tarman's survivors include his wife, Vera Ann Tarman; two nephews, Dick Stevenson of Walnut Creek CA and James Stevenson of Red Bluff; a niece, Linda Bonfield of Westlake Village CA; four grand nephews and three grand nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Fern Tarman.

Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada, is in charge of arrangements.
