Frederick W. Stenson
March 14, 1908 to Feb. 20, 1991

Frederick Walter Stenson, 82, of Nevada died of emphysema at his home.

He was born in Kelley to Henry and Julie (Egemo) Stenson and was resident of Nevada for 55 years. he married Pearl Miller on Feb. 23, 1936, in Sheldahl. He was a self-employed contractor and served three years in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of Nevada First United Methodist Church and Nevada American Legion Post 48.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Gyl Stenson of Nevada; two grandchildren, Larry Tuma and Jolene Turtzo, both of Nevada; one great-grandchild, Ashley Turtzo of Nevada; five sisters, Louise Larson and Helen Shold, both of Roland, Selma Anderson of Slater, Olive Barclay of Madrid, and Arlene Hibbard of Ames; and two brothers, Marvin of Hot Springs, Ark., and Truman of Ames.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

Visitation was held Feb. 22 at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Services were held Feb. 23 at Nevada First United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Ballard officiating. Burial was in Nevada Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
