W.S. LEMONDS DIED WEDNESDAY AT COLFAX

William Sylvester Lemonds, 76, died suddenly at his farm home north of Colfax, Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1964 from a stroke.

The son of Rev and Mrs S.S. Lemonds, he was born near Glenwood, Iowa on July 22, 1888.

In 1907, he moved with his parents to Stamford, Neb. where he met and married Lora Rush on June 4, 1913. In 1940 the moved to Iowa where they lived 11 years in the Shipley Community, going from there to Hastings, Neb., where they resided 2 years before moving to their farm near Colfax,Ia. where they farmed their own land until retirement, continuing to live on the farm until his death.
A brother, Robert C. came to live in the home in 1929 and had made his home with them since.

Survivors include his wife, Lora; brother, Robert C.; four children, Mrs. Fae Lucille Goosic of Nevada, Iowa ,Dale Lemonds of Milwaukee, Wis; Leo Lemonds of Hastings, Neb., Mrs. Wilma Edith Posegate of Nevada, Iowa: fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Ryan Funeral Home at Nevada, Iowa, on Jan. 2, 1965. Rev. Marlowe Reinholdt, minister of the Colfax Baptist Church conducted the services.

Hymns were sung by Mrs. Hazel Lyons and Mrs. Laura Lyons with Mrs. Arlene Huhn the organist.

Taking care of the flowers were Mrs. Raymond Day and Mrs Minnie Switzer.

Active Bearers: Raymond Day, Leo Elliott, Alvin Groomes, Stanley Kirk, Gene Meckley, Allen Sloniger.

Honorary Bearers: John Brady, James Day, Victor Sloniger, Wayne Harrison, Josh Ring, Robert Scott.
Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.
