Dr. D. J. Davis died at his home at Lowell, Michigan, November 9. His wife and daughter, Virginia, survive.

Dr. Davis was about fifty years of age. He was a native of the island of Jamaica, and came to the U. S. to live with his uncle near Chicago, on a farm, when he decided to study for a veterinarian. He practiced at Collins and later at Maxwell. In 1920 he was seriously ill. He never fully recovered and in 1920 he bought an acreage in Michigan, where he raised poultry and garden. Both Dr. and Mrs. Davis were active workers in the Christian Church, active in benevolent, and social work of the community. Many friends remember them for their kindly interests in man and beast. Newspaper unknown, possibly the Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Nov 1930.
