Pearl May Hall
April 25, 1905 to Oct. 19, 1996

Pearl May Hall, 91, of Nevada, died Saturday, Oct. 19, from complications from a stroke at Story County Long Term Care, where she had resided for the past three-and-a-half years.

She was born to Walter and Ida (Allen) Mason on April 25, 1905, in Maxwell and became a lifelong resident of Story County, except from 1988 to 1993 when she resided with her daughter Camanche.

On Oct 18, 1920, she married Herman Melohn. He preceded her in death in 1931. On Dec. 19, 1933, she married M.E. (Red) Hall. He preceded her in death in 1978. She lived as a homemaker and was a member of the Women of the Moose Ames Lodge #520, VFW Auxiliary and Memorial Lutheran Church. Her interests included quilting and crocheting.

Survivors include one son, Russell Melohn (and Bea) of Nevada; one daughter, Jeanne Peters (and Ken) of Camanche; one daughter-in-law, Violet Melohn, of Orangevale, Calif.; two sister, Fern Pleshek, of Omaha, Neb., and Ola Blasdell, of Cathlamet, Wash.; nine children; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son, Donald on Jan. 4, 1985; a granddaughter, Patricia Melohn on July 13, 1990; two sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct 22, at Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor Ellen Taube officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church stained glass windows. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handles arrangements.
