Committal Service Held Here Sunday for Phyllis Kent
Committal services for Phyllis Kirkendall-Kent, former Nevada woman, who passed away in Des Moines the latter part of the week were held in the Nevada cemetery Sunday afternoon with the committal service in charge of Rev. C. E. Lookingbill.
Funeral rites had been held at the E. Carl White Funeral Home in Des Moines earlier in the day.
A large cortege of relatives and friends accompanied the body from Des Moines and was met here by many relatives and old friends.
The deceased, a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Asa McConnell of Fourth street, Nevada, died Friday morning at Broadlawns General hospital. She had been ill seven weeks. She was born at Nevada, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kirkendall, but had lived in Des Moines the last two years.
Survivors are her husband, Eugene; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kirkendall; seven sisters, Mrs. H. J. Stiller, Chicago, Ill.; Elizabeth, Gainsville, Tex.; Mrs. Glen Ballard, Nevada; Mrs. William Foster, Mrs. Marion DeMoss, Doris Jean Kirkendall and Arlis Kirkendall, all of Des Moines; two brothers, Wayne, Los Angeles, Calif., and Richard, Maxwell, Ia., and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Asa McConnell, Nevada.
