MOTHER OF COUNTY
TREASURER IS DEADNEVADA -- Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church here Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Henry Ludwig, 76, who died at her home Saturday following a several months illness. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband, who died Jan. 6, 1931. Mrs. Ludwig was the mother of G. H. Ludwig, county treasurer.
Born Julia Koch at Hanover, Germany, May 17, 1858, a daughter of Ferdinand and Louise Koch, the deceased was married to Henry Ludwig in Germany May 13, 1877. The couple came with their family to America in 1889, settling first at Bloomfield, Ill. In March, 1894 they came to Story county, locating on a farm near McCallsburg, where they lived until they came to Nevada in 1915. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary here on May 13, 1927.
Three children survive, Mrs. Bertha M. Kahrs of Ventura, G. h. Ludwig at home and Walter W. Ludwig of Bouler, Colo. She also leaves two grandchildren, Mrs. Fern Hobson of near Zearing and Mrs. Neva Brots of Colo, and one brother, George Koch of Fargo, N. D. One son, Albert, died in 1930.
The courthouse here was closed during the hours of the service.
